STAR has now reached its half-way point but there is still plenty of time to win. This week we announced our Whitney Bank Red Snapper Division winner, Hunter Joffrion. He is only one winner of the over 30 prizes still available – the rest of the competition will last until Sept. 3^rd. So don’t delay, enter today.

This weekend is one of the most fished weekends of the year as thousands of anglers and spectators head to the coast for the Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo and Faux Pas Lodge Invitational Rodeo in Venice. If you are participating in either tournament, keep in mind you can enter a fish into STAR at an official weigh station and then weigh it in for the other rodeo at their headquarters. You’re fishing two tournaments at once!

And if you are headed down to one of those rodeos, take a look at these photos. There might be some thing you recognize in them! The Super Chevy Dealers want to give away that new Chevy Silverado for the first tagged redfish caught and there are nine 21ft Nautic Star bay boats with 150 hp Mercury 4-strokes up for grabs just in the tagged redfish division alone.
